PMES parents who drop off in the morning: When pulling up to drop off at Door 10, the line will go much faster if students are prompted to get out as soon as the car is in the fire lane; you don't have to take them all the way to the door. Door 10 will close at 8:25 each morning, and students still in line will need to go to the main office door to enter. Students are expected to be in their seats by 8:30, and will be considered a late arrival at 8:31 or after. Thank you in advance for helping us to make this process go more smoothly!

Students may wear a hat to school this Friday, August 25th, for a donation to our Miss River Days, Kara Carter. Thank you! #WeAreWest!

Senator Families! It's not too late! There is still time to enroll your student in our summer school program. Senator Summer Camp runs Monday-Thursday, and ends on August 3. The focus of the camp is reading and math with two exciting REWARD TRIPS for those attending regularly. Bus pickup/drop off, breakfast, and lunch will be provided for all students. Portsmouth West Elementary Activity classes are doing a fundraiser to raise money for “extras” for our students!! Extra equipment and materials for PE, art, music, and technology classes!! Extra “fun day” supplies!! Extra incentive program rewards!! All the money raised will benefit our own elementary school students. Please consider purchasing some delicious donuts. Each box contains 25 gourmet donuts. Each box costs $25, the school gets $10 for each box sold. (please collect the money at time of sale) Orders and money need to be turned in by Tuesday May 9th. (all orders are pre-paid and will only be filled if payment has been received) Delivery for 2-4 will be Thursday May 11th (parents can pick up boxes of donuts in the cafeteria beginning at 3:00 Delivery for K-1 will be Friday May 12th (parents can pick up boxes of donuts in the cafeteria beginning at 3:00 Each student selling 5 boxes of donuts or more will receive their very own sports ball. The Washington-Nile Local School District will be offering summer school. The Senator Summer Camp begins on July 10 and ends on August 3. The camp will be offered Monday-Thursday. The focus of the camp is reading and math (M-Th) with two Reward Trips. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided for all students. Parents and guardians, We have a MOUNTAIN of coats, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. in our lost and found. Any items unclaimed by the end of this month will be donated to charity. You are welcome to come in and look through them and take what belongs to your child. Just stop in the front office to sign in and get a pass. Thank you!

Good evening! The third and fourth grade students will be taking their State Reading Test beginning tomorrow. Please make sure your child gets a good nights rest each day this week and encourage them to eat breakfast- at home or at school. Encourage them to work hard and give their best effort each day; this is their chance to show how much they have learned and grown academically this year. #WeAreWest! #WestSidePride!
