As a reminder, we will be returning to hybrid learning on Tuesday, Jan 19. Grades PK-12 will attend 2 days a week for in person instruction. The remaining 3 days will be remote learning. Please refer to our return plan on our website and reference Level 3 – red.
We will be extending remote instruction until January 19, 2021 for students in grades PK – 12 at which time we will re-evaluate the situation.
Please be aware of the following:
• Teachers and students will continue to work remotely. Teachers will be reporting to work on a regular schedule and will be available for student and parent consultation.
• Students will need to log-in daily on Google Classroom to retrieve instructions from their teachers. For students that do not have internet service, all schools will be open from 9:00am – 11:00am.
• If you are in need of technical assistance, please make an appointment to have the student’s Chromebook inspected, repaired, or replaced

• During remote learning, families who experience COVID-19 related cases (either positive or close contact) should communicate with the building nurses for reporting and contact tracing purposes.
• Food deliveries will be available on January 7th and January 14th at the following locations and times:

We urge our community members to abide by the CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines to fight COVID-19 by avoiding large social gatherings, wearing face coverings, and practicing social distancing. As the holiday season arrives we must choose to have the discipline to work together to slow the spread of COVID-19. The dramatic increase in COVID cases and quarantine notifications our school district has received this week has negatively impacted our ability to provide adequate supervision, instruction, and related services .
Beginning Monday – November 30, 2020
• All schools will be on remote learning until January 4, 2021, at which time we will re-evaluate the situation.
• Students will need to log on, complete the daily assignments, follow Google Classroom lessons/activities/assignments, and participate in the live Google Meets or pre-recorded learning videos. For those families who do not have internet connectivity, each school will have internet services available at the school from 9:00am – 11:00 daily. Principals will be communicating with you about this process.
• Students are encouraged to email or contact their teachers for further information or clarification.
• Teachers and staff will report as regularly scheduled.
• The schedule for meal pick-ups will be announced as soon as possible.
• The bus to the CTC and CAPE will operate on regular schedule.
We have amended our “restart plan”. Our level three (red) now indicates that all students (PK-12) will attend two days per week. Please refer to our website for the complete plan. This will begin next quarter (November 9, 2020).

The Ohio Department of Health COVID-19 Alert Level System has designated Scioto County as “Red – Level 3. Given this determination, Washington-Nile Local School District will move to Level Red on our Restart Plan effective today. Based on our plan we will remain in Level Red for at least two weeks.
The following adjustments will be made:
• Grades 3-12 - Students will report one (1) day a week for face to face instruction. The remaining 4 days will be remote learning.
• Group “A” will attend school in person on Monday. Group “B” will attend on Wednesday. All students will learn remotely the remaining day
• Staff and faculty will report as regularly scheduled.
• Grades PK-2 will attend two days per week (Monday and Wednesday). Other days will be on-line.
• Athletic contests will not be cancelled.

We have a limited number of seats still available for 100% remote learning for grades K-4. We are extending the deadline to apply until this Friday – September 4, 2020. Applications are available on our web page under the COVID portal. Because there are a limited number of seats available, you may be put on a waiting list if classes are full. The elementary school will notify you as soon as possible as to the status of your application.
If you have already applied, there is no need to reapply.
Parents of incoming Kindergarten students, 7th graders, and Seniors- Don’t forget to get your child’s required school immunizations before school begins on Tuesday, September 8th. Vaccinations are available at your Doctor’s office, Health Department, Kroger, Walmart, and CVS.

School will begin for students on September 8, 2020. Principals and building teams continue to develop protocols unique to each building and will post them as they become available. If you have questions, feel free to contact your building principal.
