Miranda Kilgallion wins 1st place!

Students in the fifth grade had the opportunity to participate in a poster contest given by the Soil and Water Conservation District. Miranda Kilgallion received first place out of 5 schools in the county that competed. Her poster will now go to compete against other contest winners in the State Competition.

These 5th Grade students are showing their support for the Buckeyes!

On the first day of school, PWMS started a new tradition.  The entire 5th grade were officially welcomed to our building with a small assembly.  As they arrived in the morning of that first day, all 5th graders were taken to the cafeteria.  After everyone arrived, Mr. Jordan and Mr. Kegley assembled the staff and started playing the fight song as the new middle school students were welcomed by the 6th 7th, 8th grade students and the entire staff with applause and cheers as they walked into the gymnasium.  We hope the new “Middle School Students” feel welcome!

Working as engineering teams, students designed and created model bridges using plastic drinking straws and tape as their construction materials. Their goal was to build the strongest bridge with a truss pattern of their own design, while meeting the design criteria and constraints.
