Dear Portsmouth West Senators:
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I am honored to have been selected as your Superintendent of Washington-Nile Local School District. We will continue to provide an exceptional experience for students. Our district has an outstanding dedicated faculty, a superior student body, and a supportive school community that values educational excellence. Our top priority is to ensure that every child is ultimately College Prepared and Workforce and Career Ready We take great pride in our achievements and are passionate about the opportunities provided to all students. I am excited to lead this district and look forward to building strong relationships with our staff, students, families, and community members.
This has been an extremely busy summer for our district. We are making many necessary improvements to our facilities (It is hard to believe that the elementary and high school buildings are 20 years old). We are completing the installation of a new heating/air system in each building, we now have solar panels providing energy for our schools. We certainly look forward to financial savings was well as having environmentally friendly buildings. Additionally, ground has been broken for a new athletic building that will provide our student-athletes a place to practice and train. We have many additions to our curriculum to better challenge our students and prepare them for the future. Positive Intervention and Behavior Support initiatives will help motivate students and teach them how to make positive decisions in their lives. Most importantly, we have made several revisions to our safety procedures and upgrades to our equipment.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and faculty. At Washington-Nile Local School District we truly believe that each child is special and we are committed to the success of every child, every day.
Anthony Bazler, Superintendent
Washington-Nile Local School District
